I used to live in Padova (Italy) with a Sevillian, a Swiss and an Argentinian with whom chats, parties and loughters I shared. Annina (Switzerland) and Miguel (Argentina) became a couple by the end of that period and now, for a week, they've come to visit me at the beach. It had been a year and a half since we last met so I was really looking forward for this moment.
I expected them from wednesday on, but Annina got ill while travelling in Portugal so they anticipated the arrival. I went on Sunday to Ayamonte to pick them up and followed to the health centre at Cartaya to check out what was wrong with Annina. It turns out she's suffering from tonsillitis and needs rest & meds.
After a couple of apathetic illness days, we began holidays - finally. I took this week as a break in the middle of work and study. This year's summer is being and goes on being late so I really needed a pause.
We all moved to Islantilla to enjoy sun, beach and good eating. One of the days we went to Isla Cristina, where Annina remained delighted by the tortilla de camarones and we had a look at the dock.
Then we went fishing with my cousin. Miguel really enjoyed it, I think it had been a while since he last did it, but Annina wasn't that pleased about fishes' blood. Later she had problems to have them for dinner. Once you've seen the animal alive it seems more difficul to swallow it - not for me: I'd rather say it tastes better when you get your own food...
After some days of relax we change the littleness of the province of Huelva for the hot sweaty monumental touristical city of Sevilla. We stayed at a hostel by the centre which was next to a bus hub. Despite that, we dind't use the bus very much, as we were a 15 - 20 minutes walk away from everything. Sighseeing, eating and some drinking we had, and almost fainted of heat in the most dangerous hours of the day.
Then, Annina and Miguel left again to the country of the chocolate, the knife and the foreign money. And I stayed, and everything as it was before.
I'll probably meet them again when I'll go see Clara in Florence after the exams but - isn't it hard this thing? Good friends you can only see every year and a half?
To you guys, thanks for coming and see you soon.
